Seized outboard bracket

The clamps on second hand Mariner 2 hp outboard I recently bought are seized. I have tried all kinds of oil over a period of weeks and lots of brute force and leverage and they just don't turn.
What is the next step? I though about getting a blow toch onto teh alloy but was a bit worried. Is it worth getting it drilled out retapped and new clamps made up or a new bracket?

Outboard located near Helston if anyone knows a good place to get it sorted out.

Heat up slowly, add oil, then try forward and back with mole grips, it worked for me.

Gentle warmth (about 100 deg c) should do the trick - try and localise the heat in the bracket and not in the screws. I find that you can usually waft the blow lamp around carefully and get the necessary warmth without damaging the paint. I have spent many happy hours dismantling old outboards, and sometimes even managed to get them back together!

[/ QUOTE ] A hot air gun, if you have one, is a bit gentler and less likely to ignite any petrol that's about. Some hair dryers seem pretty powerful as well. Boiling water pouerd on from a kettle may well do the trick.

As you are based at Helston, take it to Robin Curnow, Outboard motor specialists at Commercial Road, Penryn. 01326 373438. I have always found them most helpful and obliging.

White spirit or turps,(refined paraffin) mixd with a bit of oil worked for me, obviously inflammable so take care.Paraffin is very searching.You may need to warm first ,be careful not too hot,
