Off on the Challenge boats over to cork from Plymouth and back setting off Sunday.

Have not seen the forecast but have packed plenty of shorts and sun block as well as a hat and my sunglasses.

Have not got room for the oilies but shouldn't think i'll need them.

Will be absent next week
My mum is sending a note.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'you're making a scene'.

Good luck. I don't envy you the experience though. Last time I was on one of these boats the wine waiter was downright rude and the caviar was definately not Buluga.

no it is actually the cork reggatta so we get a stop off in Crosshaven.

Although it looks like we will get in some heavy weather sailing. I think the difference is that ours is a straight race to cork and back. The heavy weather course you take sails up and down, heave to, run lines of the stern and try all points of sail until you get good at it.

My only complaint would be that the headline price offered was far belwo the one i eventually ended up paying. but i need the miles and the experience i am hoping will be really good. apart from it will be a bit like being in a washing machine set to cold during an earthquake.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'you're making a scene'.

No idea
it started at about £365 on the mail shot and ended up £565 in the final price the only add ons are insurance and oilskin hire. To be honest it was not that much of an issue cos i stgill think it will be great experience, but cheap it ain't. I will let you know if it is value for money when i get back.

It seems a bit daft they they go on about breathable layers then hire out non breathable oilies
i have breathable oilies but they are not really offshore, although we will see how they stand up.
