Thought I saw a flock on the opposite side of Levington last week.

Or were they Canadian ?

Bit weird when you are sailing and would like to take your shirt off.

Could be either but certainly Brent Geese are arriving in significant numbers now, I noticed a couple of them swiming along the shore line by the old tide gauge opposite Suffolk yacht harbour once the fog cleared on Saturday.

Spotted the first of them this year in the Walton backwaters just over a fortnight ago.

Thursday morning about 100 came into Stangate Creek, honking and hooting like mad, from which I assumed they had just arrived and were doing the "look at that, thats new, the same, as last year", like any tourist returning to a holiday destination. Lovely to see. And hear.

A couple of small flocks were in the Roach at the weekend. I love seeing them, and hearing them, except that they remind me that the cold weather is approaching. Most of the swallows have left but there are still terns about.
