Hello All,
We are having our NorSea 27 shipped from New Caledonia to LeHavre. It is due to arrive in LeHavre on April 23, 2013.
The boat will be transferred from the ship to a Lorry--for transport to a marina/boat yard.

We seek a marina that will accept delivery of the boat and also provide a week or so on the hard to re-assemble. After that we need to launch and have a pontoon for an additional week or two.

Can anyone provide current information or recommendations as to what is available.

Thanks
Ed

Once upon a time I would have recommended Stephan Reiset's yard but his operation appears to have closed down (I inspected the location personally last year) - although his website is still up - www.cnhm.fr
Alternatives are a) The marina itself at Le Havre http://www.lehavreplaisance.com/ or b) Frederic Challé at TEC Ocean, Honfleur
I'd investigate both - Honfleur (where the TEC yard is, not the picturesque historic basin) might be a quiet and amenable choice, although without the range of facilities that Le Havre offers.
For details of Le Havre and Honfleur - http://www.french-waterways.com/waterways/lehavre-honfleur.html

Thanks for the reply. It seems that LeHavre Plaisance will fit the bill quite nicely. Have you had any personal experience with them? For some reason they dont jump to the top of anyone's "you should go there " list and I cant help wonder why.

You mentioned that you used Tecocean to do your prepartaions but I reason that you arrived by water. Does Tecocean have a travel lift launch capability? Cant find out anything along those lines.

We are having quite a time trying to get anywhere using e mail--as no one ever responds other than an automated response that tells nothing.
Perhaps a telephone call will be in order.

Thanks again.
Ed

French businesses are not very 'email compliant'. Telephone calls are best, or faxes.
The marina has - I think (been a few years since I berthed there) - a 30T travelift and there is a (non-fenced) yard/working area. Be aware of the big tidal range in the marina - from lots of water (and wash from busy harbour traffic) to mudbanks and sloping access ways twice a day. But a nice enough place, staff were friendly and professional when I was there, admittedly not for that long.
Honfleur does not have a travelift, but does have a crane (not sure of capacity). The small basin where TEC Ocean is, is quiet and locked off from the Seine and tides.
