The original owner who home completed his Weston 8500 back in 1985 contacted the owners association asking if we knew where his old boat is. A Google search hasn't come up with anything on the web, so I wondered if anyone knows of her whereabouts?
Launched as Kata, she originally sailed from Woolverstone Marina and was later sold to someone in the Lowestoft area and was later seen for sale with a broker in Aldeburgh, whilst she was berthed in Felixstowe. After the sale she was renamed Charisma. She is a bilge keel sloop with a white hull and dark blue gunwhale stripe, the companionway hatch is offset to starboard.
I have collected photos from the web of any Westons I've seen, so you can see what she will look like here on Photobucket:

Could anyone who has seen her, let us know where she is and maybe invite the current owner to contact us on Varne.co.uk? We like to find out any history of any of the boats in the class and would love to help a retired sailor catch up on news of the boat he built.
