Securing Rocna anchor on bow roller

My old 7.5kg Bruce anchor used to sit quite happily on the bow of my Hunter Pilot 27, but the new 10kg Rocna waggles about from side to side and tends to lift up the end of the shank only to hit the roller furling drum. Tying the front of the anchor up to the pulpit with line holds it fairly securely but I’m not happy doing this as I would like to be able to release the anchor quickly in an emergency. Anyone got any ideas of a better way of securing, or some sort of quick-release mechanism?

I had similar, I temporally had a larger roller made that caused the Rocna to snug up more closely and then at the end of the season I had my bow roller assembly modified with cheeks to let the flukes snub against and in my case because I fly a spinnaker from the roller cheeks I had the height of the sides increased.

At moment have lost the photos, I can take some this weekend if you want just PM me.

A tight lashing from the anchor shackle to sampson post -4 turns, plus light line with slip knot from the hoop to pulpit holds my 25kg Rokna secure. Quick release, a couple of minutes at most to undo the lashings. Have always securely lashed my anchors when sailing and in over 35 years of cruising have never needed one in such a hurry that I had to use a knife.

Had a 25Ib CQR hanging on a special bracket alongside the bowsprit on a Crabber - PITA - would have been better in an anchor locker or on deck out of the way of mooring lines and not scratching the hull.

Not happy with Bruce hanging over the bow also on the latest boat so he is going to get thrown over the side from the cockpit but then he is only 5KG :D

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I will have to stick with using line to secure the anchor. I will try and come up with a better way of tying it this season so I can undo the knot more easily!
A couple of seasons ago, as we were crashing through large waves mid Solent, the anchor decided it had had enough on the bow and dived to the seabed, 18m down, plus the rest of the chain. The lashing had come undone. It was extremely hard work pulling it all up again. Fortunately I only have 7mm chain, with 8mm chain it might have been too heavy to retrieve.
