Second hand cruising chute - recommended places to search?

Hi all, am looking for a second hand cruising chute for a 43' footer, posted in the Wanted Forum in case anyone has one!

Are there any favourite on-line sites for second hand sails which can be recommended?
I noted that ExchangeSails have one which may work for me, but are they still to be avoided ?

I'd search ebay for a cruising chute and search on here for experiences of Exchange Sails.

You do need to be patient on ebay though as what you search for may take a while to appear

Some sailmakers list used sails.
Sort out what dimensions would suit and keep an eye on the independent lofts who serve racing sailors.

For some time I had an eBay notification for cruising chutes, but deleted it following the thread about Kemp's e-sails.

I frequently saw cruising chutes & asymmetrics sell secondhand on eBay for similar prices to what you could now buy a new one for - admittedly some went for substantially less, but I think you'd be lucky to get a good fit for half the price secondhand.

I‘ve used eBay for getting a secondhand Genoa and happy with the result as it was basically one sailor selling to another.

Exchange sails would be ok if you can go there in person and inspect and remove the goods there and then. If the savings are substantial then worth a road trip perhaps.

I find that the the face book group "Yachts and Yachty bits for sale" is worth keeping an eye on. Obviously you have to be on the dreaded FB.
Currently one on there for a Jeaneau 45 that might suit

Kemp ESails looks an interesting option. Custom chute quotes coming in at £3.5K+, and Exchange Sails wanting £840 for the used chute. ESail from Kemp circa £1400.

I did, but they advised that they have stopped the second hand sails side of the business, just not worth it to them

Exchange Sails sort their second hand goods erratically and have cash flow issues. Only buy from them if you can collect in person from Ivybridge or are prepared for wrangles if it doesnt fit or is wornout. I got very excellent Trisail from them but my boat is near them

Their new sails are excellent however
