So I know its now the 3rd and last day but has anyone been to or is at Seawork?
Been a very good show so far.
Over 500 exhibitors, lots of worky type boats on the pontoons.
Bumped into Spottydog and Mrs Spottydog, who were on really good form: plotting a plan to go to see another Tigress ...
Very good level of inquiries, quite a positive vibe, so hopeful.

I went yesterday, and agree that it was a very good show. Even though it's a commercial marine show, there were quite a few exhibitors who also supply the leisure boat industry.....well worth a visit!

Great show this year, it keeps getting better. I was there outside next to Scania, Solitaire and Yoda came along yesterday every day we had cold beers in the sun. Work doesn't get much better really. Were you exhibiting Pennpromo?

I went on two of the days. Good show and nice to meet you:cool: Spotty dog was n good form as well. Plus I saw my new engine!

I was there yesterday, a good show obviously biased towards work boat but a lot of suppliers that work in leisure market.

I saw the SWASH boat the trimaran type SWATH boat turning in the harbour if my SWIMBO was onboard that she would have chucked up in the harbour on a flat calm day.

I had a drive on Monday on the Penta 80 boat a 72ft x 15ft 38 ton aluminium work boat a test boat for Volvo Penta it has come down from Gothernburg from the test centre on a Channel/ North Sea tour.

It is fitted with twin IPS 900 2 of D13 700 hp tops out at 25knots which is quite good for a boat that size.

This is the launch of IPS for workboats.

The manoeuvrability is awesome including the DBS when you push a button it will stay where it is and pointing in the same direction irrespective of tide flow + or - 1.5m.

The boat goes sideways it can scribe a circle pointing in the same direction etc

With the D13 the acceleration and torque is awesome.

They reckon that at over 20 knots it saves 30@ compared to shaft boats.

Well impressed.

It was good to natter with you too, I think we sorted out the state of the industry, we just need to find someone to listen.....
I look forward to our lunch and Tigress hunt.

Went yesterday....with work as opposed to own leisure interests. Had a trial on the Redbay Stormforce 12m cabin RIB with Hamilton jets...first experience of jets and whilst they felt strange I could see that having got to grips with them they will be the first choice. Lots of stands inside which we didn't really get chance to browse as our focus was on the next vessel procurement. Good day overall. Didn't realise there were one or two forumites around......would have been nice to put names to faces

I hadn't realised there were so many from YBW that went! I didn't get to see everyone that visited our stand but we will be back next year.

Yes, we were in hall 1 on the dockside wall, opposite the main entrance. Good day on Wednesday, met plenty of our existing customers, which is always useful and also a few new ones, so overall worthwhile for us. It's always very tricky to justify exhibitions and to quantify the results but I came away feeling pretty positive of the whole industry actually. SIMON

We went to visit yesterday, last exhibited 2 years a go. It seemed quiet on the Thursday morning and a lot of the exhibitors looked rather bored, but those who we spoke to said that overall it had been very good and that the foot fall does often tail off on the last day.

For us it was well worth visiting as we have many customers there and it is always a pleasure to be able to talk to them face to face and see how things are with them.

This year's show has now ended but it will be back on next year and for no entry fee it is a good idea to visit if you can get there easily enough. Parking and shuttle bus were free also.

I have been going to this show ever since the first ones held at Port Solent, gets bigger every year. I really enjoy chatting to the guys on the stands as they seem to know what they are talking about and seem to have more time to chat. I appreciate it won't be every ones cup of tea, it's not like the SBS but I always have a good time.

I went down too and was good, plenty of boats on display moored up just outside the halls with plenty of things to look at inside including engine manufacturers, boat accessories and spare parts suppliers too!
