Seaward 23

Does anyone have an opinion on the suitability of the Seaward 23 as a first boat? I hope to use it for offshore angling and weekend cruising. They seem expensive for the size & age (about 30K for a 15 year old boat) with a 130hp diesel. Are they worth it? Do they have any weaknesses, or common faults, and are there popular improvements that can be made to the stock (old) boats?

An excellent boat but a 15 year old example must be one of the first built. If it has an outdrive be careful and more so if it is a BMW engine. The price sounds quite high but otherwise you can't go too far wrong.
