Seatalk 1 to/ from nmea 2000

Does anyone know if it is possible to connect my old seatalk 1 st60s to an nmea 2000 backbone, by using the seatalk 1- seatalk ng converter and then just wiring in the converter to the nmea hub, given seatalk ng is nmea 2000, but with a different plug and an extra wire to allow for seatalk 1

If it is it would seem to avoid a lot of work and allow simple connection and sharing by nmea 2000
