Seabird relaunched yesterday, please excuse her temporary nakedness, new rope fender on order and if the cutty sarks rigger gets a move on and gets it finished it maybe fitted this weekend.

Wow, fantastic shine, looking very nice. Happy cruising for the 2014 :)

Many thanks.

A fellow boat owner at Hamble Point who's boat was quite near Seabird, tragically died last week while working on his boat. There may be some who know a bit more but as I was told electrics were to blame. I have always used a circuit breaker to plug my polisher into, just a wise precaution to anyone readying their boat to do the same, you can only feel for the chaps wife who was waiting in the car for him to finish up....

How long before your boat emerges from her winter slumber? April sometime??

Hi P,

This winter has been very mild so I'm hoping she'll be in the water in April. Usually the ice melts early May.

I've done a few therapeutic trips to the boat already and am going again next w/e :).

Hi Gary, indeed I do the work myself, and for another couple of boats.... And could be persuaded to do more, oddly there is nothing more I like then preparing boats.

Wow, fantastic shine. She really does look like she just emerged from Hardy's factory. Good going

I reckon spray paint the RR tube in gloss white, or wrap in white Fablon

That's annoying me as well, I'm planning to remove the useless thing altogether and add a scan strut support to my power tower that the radar sits on and get a tri-lens rr

Hi James,

I saw Seabird was back at Mercury when I arrived. Fairways went back in yesterday so she's good to go for the season ahead. Lets hope it's a cracker!!

Now that both you and James are now afloat, you have lots more time to spend in the workshop to "make" plenty of "hot sunny and wind free" weekends...... the famous quote "FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION" springs to mind !!!!!!!
