Season for transatlantic crossing, US-Eur.

The time to go is reckoned to be sometime between late April and early june. This gets you clear of big winds in the carib from Julyish, but not too soon into Atlantic when there's bigger gale risk during April. From the caribbean, boats tend to leave from islands with good provisioning such as (especially) st martin and from Antigua after race week. The sailing route is northish from the caribbean untill the wind dies, after which there's a choice of continuing north to Bermuda (and lots of us boats will be using bermuda as a stepping out point) or cutting the corner and head direct to Azores, or even miss azores and continue nother 1000 miles ish to mainland europe.

Two guys came with me last year, their blog is on theeuropeadventure.blogspot (google with this for exact syntax)
