Seaside Rescue

Anyone know the name of the boat or the reason of the lifeboat rescue of the sunseeker on last nights programme ? Great viewing . Dave.

I believe the reason for the rescue was because the crew was entirely recruited from Muppetland! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was surprised at the end when they stuck the sunseeker on a trailer and towed it away - looked much more than 3500kg all up!

It wasn't the sunseeker that went on the trailer, it was the other "boat", I think.

Yep it was the home made boat that was trailored away. The sunseeker was 39' and had presumably ran out of fuel cos lost both engines. Also had no working vhf and no lifejackets.

Muppet is right, the guy was lucky he did not have a name on the boat. Glad to see the lifeboat crew give him a bit of stick for no lifejackets.

The boat with no name guy apparently had a row with his missus so went off in his partly completed boat.

Having drunk all his beer and run out of fuel he just started drifting down channel.

Next stop ...RNLI; what a dummy!!

The boat was in Weymouth harbour for a few days before being recovered I believe.

Interesting with the Sunseeker though, they said the VHF wasn't working and had lost electrics, so why were the nav lights on???
