Is it just me, but I cannot get ANY results from the new 'Boats for Sale' website. It always just comes back and says 'Widen your search' !!! The search was for 42 to 44 foot Bavarias in the UK. You cant get much wider than that!!! What is everyones else experience of this?

cheers,

just did the same search, and it returned 13 boats.

Possibly metres, not feet /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I didn't like the new 'for sale' section when it came out but it's either got better or I've got used to it - seems to work okay now. Just wish they'd get it to remember which page you're on as you go through the results ... I know, wrong forum.

Try looking for motorboats in the 120k -15ok range, I did, first boat up a bavaria 40 sailboat, second boat bav 40 and so it went on.

This lash up is causing sellers to lose buyers, and sellers to lose their sanity.

The person who designed that site really needs taking to one side and told to SORT THE DAMN THING OUT! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Not only is the new provider using poor software but once you do get it too work you find that only a poor sample of boats for sale is registered...

Hi,

I'm sorry that you're still having problems with the boats for sale section. I have posted this elsewhere but you may not have seen it, and hopefully it will give you some clarification on the process. If you have any further questions please email me at dan_foley@ipcmedia.com

Firstly, it's long been our aim to bring boats for sale in-house. The previous deal with Yachtworld sent our users to their site, so you can understand that at some stage we would want to provide a solution within YBW. What you see is now stage one of a new era for us.

Furthermore, by its very nature Yachtworld features a lot of boats from the US and a relatively small portion of our users are located there - the feedback we got from numerous pieces of research was that the vast majority would prefer to search boats from the UK and Europe. In the future our boats for sale may grow to incorporate boats from the US, but at the moment we are certainly not competing with Yachtworld here and if you are looking for US-based boats, it would be the best place to go.

As mentioned we are at stage one, what you might call a 'soft launch'. We are not actively promoting the section yet, because we fully expected there to be some bugs that we'd only find out about when we actually went live. We're ironing these out ASAP, so thanks again for the responses (and patience), we'll definitely take this into account going forward into phase two.

Thanks,
Dan
