There's an ad in this month's MBY for a brand new Searay 280 Sundancer. List price £104,950 reduced to £79,995. A pretty decent discount. But, I suspect that it's a cancelled order and wonder if dealer's margin is £25k and he's selling it at no profit. Comments?

Also, whilst IMHO Searays are the best of the Yank sportscruisers the list price does seem a tad high. The boat in question is a 30 footer with single engine so will not be that saleable. Also, for £105k and a bit of haggling you could buy a brand new T30 with twin KAD32's.

Searays are pretty expensive but they still use the old system of designating boats by hull length rather than overall length so you're getting more boat than you may think. Searay also fit loads of gizmos, really useful stuff like built in coffee percolator, electric seats, trash compactor, just the sort of gear you need when you're caught out mid channel in a bit of a blow
If its got diesels, its worth a look but with petrols, no way
