Sealing F42/5 fan warning light.

Hi, Im very new to boating, have a few courses coming up, but took her out for a little tootle.. accidentally ran aground, managed to get out but now have some warning lights on next to the fan. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix/what to check before I get the expensive boys in?

just a yellow warning led above the word fan

hope it's not water in bilge warning lights. You did visit the engine room afterwards and everything is fine and dry?

The engine bay extract fan is on. Or if not there is a fault with the fan?

On a serious note……the op appears a novice and it’s a shaft drive boat. We know nothing about the grounding, speed, seabed type, rocks, vibration after, bilges dry Etc….

I think the only advice is to get lifted.

When the retained depth flap gate in the Marina failed and I sat on soft mud with outdrives fully down….I got lifted the next day. Not worth risking any issues imho

Sorry not me, we did not do the S42, 390 and 420 yes, but the S42 was part of a expensive Howards Way period with Sealine.

But if it's on the boat mimic on the overhead helm panel, there were two engineroom fan's on warning lights, bilge pumps had a warning light and audio alarm.

Why do you say that?

It's a big heavy boat and it's lowest point is the stern gear and p-brackets and with the best will in the world those arent up to taking a grounding with 12 -14 odd tons of momentum following behind. I'm not saying definite damage, I am saying definitely haul out and check there isnt any damage.

And you can tell if there has been some stern gear damage by examining the bilges? You know, curling of a prop edge, hairline crack in the p-bracket etc. You're bloody good. I'd hire you as a surveyor any day with that kind of insight.
