CPO (clumsy previous owner) has cross-threaded and graunched the connections to the freshwater accumulator (amongst other things). I have tried tape and bosswhite because I believe I need a flexible solution rather than araldite or similar.
Now down to a very slight weep, but really I would like a proper fix.
Anyone know which product is sympathetic to the black Jabsco plastic stuff? (I'm screwing a brass fitting in)
Thanks in anticipation,

Fernox LSX from any good plumber's merchant is the biz. I use it all the time.....it's especially good for compression fittings where a brass ferrule has been used. It won't strengthen the thread but it will plug the gaps and come undone if you need to dismantle it ever.

I wouldn't want to recommend it for underwater use on a boat but I have successfully used it to seal skin fittings before. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I now use the 'proper' marine stuff for peace of mind in case the Fernox reacts with GRP or the skin fitting material. It is quite smelly so it must contain something powerful.

Isn't Fernox LSX just silicone sealant? Having said that, I confess I keep a tube of Fernox LSX in my toolkit, as it's a handy size.

I've used it on my boat for around fifteen years, including underwater, i.e. my cutless bearing housing. Never found a problem. I wish I could get it in white to use instead of life-caulk or Sikaflex.

You're quite right and it must be OK with copper based alloys. The problem with NASA log impeller housings being damaged by the wrong type of sealant made me think that Fernox may not be suitable for use on some types of plastic.

Even so, I keep a tube in my toolbox on the boat. It works well as a gasket on the waterpump cover if used sparingly. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
