me plastimo compass has an air bubble. i managed to refill the compass but found that by pulling down gently on the bellows air leaks in between the clear dome and the black plastic base. any ideas for sealing the tiny gap??

Sorry, can't help. Sealing anything plastic can be a pain and that's multiplied many times over if there's any sort of oil around.

I'd be interested to know what you refilled the compass with and in any comments you have about how successful that's been. Judging from other threads on that topic many others may be interested in your answers as well.

Thanks in anticipation.

refilling was done with baby oil. it mixed fine with the compass fluid. if you had lost too much compass fluid and refiled with alot of baby oil it would be too viscous and would be overdamped- but 5-10% should be no problem

Mine split it's diaphragm, sealed perfectly with Sikaflex (222?), has lasted eight months so far.
