I noticed a boat for sale on boatsandoutboards and emailed for details. Got a reply from them with a link to their website (sealineworld.com) - no address or phone number. Seems to be running a brokerage from an address in Norbury.

I asked about coming to look at one of the boats and they have replied offering to invoice me, deliver the boat to me in Devon for a 30 day trial and collect it again at their own cost, refunding my dosh in full if I don't want it. If I do, there's a 1 year warranty.

Is this hooky gear? Are there any lawyers/boys in blue on the forum out there who might be able to check them out?

Their Ts and Cs page refers to them as Sealine World Ltd.
Companies House lists a company of that name, registered 30/4/12, reg office London SW16.
I think that as a ltd co they are breaking the law by not putting co details and contact address on their website.
Trust them with money? Err let me think for a millisecond..

PS
DueDil shows one director, Mr Biswanath Mandal Ashwini, Indian national, age 26. No financial information yet.

Read that again and ask yourself the question.....

That's why I'm asking here - trying to do a bit of homework...

Sometimes, just sometimes, someone comes up with a novel way of doing things and there's a chance, however small, that this guy might be totally legit.

If others in our esteemed community have experience of successful transactions through them, then great.

Otherwise, it serves as a warning. Caveat emptor and all that latin jazz...

Just check out the items they have for sale by Googling for images. For example look for images of Sleekcraft Enforcer 28 and you come across this one for sale in Florida which has the same photos! http://www.boatparadise.com/boat/2008-sleekcraft-enforcer-28-open-bow-425hp-ad-230688.

I haven't checked the others but the Seadoo photo has a rather tropical look to it.

Edit: There is also a Carolina Sea Chaser with an identical photo in the for sale section of a university in Indianapolis. How they are going to deliver these boats free of charge then collect them is beyond me. ;)

Have requested an address where I might inspect the boats. No reply, funnily enough...strange that!

Also, found a youtube video of one of the RIBs for sale, done and posted as an advert in 2009. Seems to have been taken in a tropical location. How very intriguing...maybe Surrey has suddenly warmed up - a lot!

Ah well - too good to be true - too true to be good.

Ooh! I just found another identical site called www.marine-sales.co.uk

Seems they have the same stuff for sale.

There's an absolute REEK of bad fish going on here. Anyone work in law enforcement?

Ts and Cs page refers to Marine Sales Ltd.
No such company listed at Companies House.
That is definitely an offence, claiming to be limited company when not.
All very shady indeed!
