Due to a cancellation I was free, So I went for a nosy and to catch up with old friends.
I wanted to see what there version of IPS was like, She is a lovely boat, 2 double bed cabins with room to move, a saloon you do not have to squeeze past people to transit.
There is a large sun bed opposite the helm, could be a distraction depending on who is on it , /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
The helm is great, you are up height enough to see all of the bow, I did not feel like I needed to be wearing 6in stiletto on her.
Now they say that the boat under the nice fat joy stick does not rock , which can happen on the IPS , when asking for a sideways motion.

I got to have a little play using the joy stick and did a quick sideways move to see.
They are right it does not rock, its a little slower to move sideways than the IPS but is very steady.
A nice boat that will only spill your gin and tonic a little even on a hard turn at speed, and the joy stick will bring a grin to berthing not a grimace!

Very nice.

I got on a SC35 for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was surprised by how much I liked her. Even more of the same on the SC47. I wonder how she would fare against MBY's favourite at that size, the Sessa C46? Both seem to have huge master cabins for their length.

Saw this at the show, has some interesting ideas and a great owners mid cabin.

The trade off to that mid cabin though is a huge "box" on the port forward side of the cockpit which creates the aft cabin headroom. They've chucked a mattress on and called a sunbed despite the fact that it's half under the screen!

Given that the cockpit is the part of the boat used the most I'd be unwilling to lose that much of it to the aft cabin personally.

Cool wine rack though and a few other nice novel touches.

No , I am saying I did not need them, most sports boats I am on tip toes to see the bow a lot of the time, with her I did not feel that need.

What they need to do is a back to back comparison of IPS of similar size and the SC47 .

I would love to do that. really play with them both.

yeh, agreed, why would you give up cockpit space to the cabin, that hardly ever gets used on most sports cruisers. Shame, cos I really like the boat otherwise.

Where you on board when it came flying out of the marina backwards at speed nearly colliding with a yacht leaving the fuel pontoon just after lunch yesterday? It then say in the middle of the river and did a quite impressive sideways move quite oblivious to every one else on the river.
