Does anyone have any idea what sort of fuel usage 2 Man 600hp engines in a sealine t51 will be please??. Based on 450 gallons of fuel what is the maximum range of her

Also any idea what sort of price the repeater gauges on the fly bridge would cost to replace? (parts only)

Thanks
Jase

Is that for both engines combined??
so roughly about 360 NM based on 450 gallons yes?
I suppose that would be her optimum plaining speed 20-22 knots also

Jase

Would be less than 360nm allowing for, say, 25% safety margin, so approx 270nm. You wouldn't want to run out of fuel, would you /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Yes, that's for both combined. So a theoretical 350 ish miles, but as LJS says you would need to have some reserve in mind when working out distance between fuel stops

True !!!!
We are looking at moving the boat from Fort lauderdale to the Dominican Republic but will take extra fuel. I think its about 750 miles but will need to plan the route and fuel stops.

Hi Jason
I replied to you on the other forum.
You wont get anything like 360 nautical miles on a tank at 23 knots.
For thos of us this side of the pond, the T51 holds 500 imp galls (Jason's 450 galls are probably US galls)
We get about 230 ish nautical miles per tank and she then NEEDS fuel.
Alternatively you could try a gentle 9 knots and I think she will do 600/700 nautical miles on a tank - ours does.

Hi Mike
Thanks for the info I thought it seemed alot.
The boat we are looking at is a 1998 but like yours it will need work to be a true palace.
Can I be cheaky and ask what you feel is a fair price for a retrim i.e curtains carpets upholstery since you sound like you have had that done.
It's about 750 miles from Fort Lauderdale to the Dominican but we are planning a leisurely cruise with plenty of sight seeing over a few weeks, so it sounds like the slower the better to me
You wont believe this but we have never seen a T51 and are buying on spec alone although we of course will see her before we pay the full amount.
We hope to be going in a week or so or at least when the broker gets his finger out lol.
We cant wait and did think about viewing a t51 in Wales but feel this is unfair and pointless since we want a boat in the carribean

Hi Jason,
I too replied to you on the other forum. I see you haven't seen this boat yet, but has the broker e-mailed you pics of it? If so please feel free to post some here, so as we can see exactly what state its in too.

All the best with it,

Cheers

Alistair.

In the previous threads, I thought that you live in the US but your profile on this forum indicates that you are in the UK.
If so, perhaps you would like to have a look at our T51 - She is on the Hamble and we were thinking of short trip out (to say to the Isle of Wight) sometime between now and next week - weather permitting - fancy a day out?
If you are in the UK, it would give you a trial on a T51 and the chance to see what a good one looks like.

Hi Mike

Thats a very generous offer to make thankyou
Yes we are in the UK and would love a chance to see your T51
that would give me a better idea what's right and whats wrong with this one in the states.
When had you planned to go? we are quite flexable although its been a while since I swabbed decks

Hi Mike
Thats a very generous offer and we would love to take you up on it.
It would definately benefit us to see what a T51 should really look like prior to our visit to the US.
We are quite flexible although weekends are best as Jan works for someone unlike myself who is self employed and can work whenever.
Just let me know when your ready and we will come down for the day

Thanks again

Jase n Jan
