Hi all.

I'm most of the way through removing the head and side linings in the forward cabin of my T46, but the side panels that hold the port holes have defeated me this far. It looks as though they run underneath the cabinets either side of the bed, which means these cupboards need to come out. There are 4 screws in the top of each just inside the door which have been taken out, but the cabinets remains resolutely in place.

Any idea how to remove the cabinets please?

Thanks.

Thanks for the responses. Post has been on the Sealine forum for a few weeks without any responses, was hoping perhaps ex-Sealine owners may still frequent here.

Elessar - yes, I have spent many a (happy?!) hour scraping off mountains of sealant. Hoping to replace with hook & loop.

They only built 33 T46s so there isn’t a lot of experience.
I think they are absolutely fabulous boats that ride well, are smooth and quiet and are incredibly spacious for their length so I don’t understand why they didn’t catch on.

Quite a few years ago there was an ex- Sealine employee in the marina who said the extra cost of the aft cabin fit out versus the price point the marketing people needed to pitch the boat at for sale meant they ended up losing money on them. I really like mine too hence the investment in recovering.

The two excellent double cabins plus a bunk cabin is remarkable 👍🏻 you do lose the lazarette, so harking back to one of my earlier dilemmas, nowhere to store the fenders 😊
I generally only use two fenders when mooring. A ball at the bow and a large regular fender with a loop in the line that hooks on the rear cleat.

These live in the dinghy underway, or the ball often just stays on deck for shorter trips. They do fit in the anchor locker if needed as it’s large but I don’t normally bother.

I just don’t see the point of any more. It’s a flat sided boat against a straight pontoon. Two is all you need. And it’s quick to deploy - particularly useful when you’re single handed but good for the crew too.

I keep another 4 in rocket launchers on the bow in addition for when it’s windy or I’m rafting or whatever. Generally they don’t get used though.

That’s all you need for UK style mooring.

My parking skills are a tad less proficient than yours 😊
