I am looking to buy a Sealine S37, my first power boat, 1999 but have heard that there was some problem with the hull pre-2000. Does anyone know of these problems and what I should look for?
I had a new S37 in built in 1998, which after three years went to France with it's new owner. By chance we ran across it with it's third owner (now in Port Solent) in September this year. It's still in great nick, flew through it's survey, and the new owners are delighted with it. Must say, I never heard of any intrinsic problems with S37 hulls - they are amongst the best that Sealine have done, and date back to the Sealine 360 ambassador from the early 90's. However, as with ANY boat that old, make sure you have a survey carried out.
Not heard of any endemic problems with S37's - most owners have good things to say about them. As above, though, survey is essential just in case of previous owner abuse.
