Sealine S330 to make its international debut at Southampton

that is genuinly exciting

At Boot in January they were saying that they were working on a 30/33 foot boat. the good thing is they were working on two cabins and a saloon (like the Elan 30) rather than the restrictive but standard V berth plus aft cabin. If it is two cabins plus saloon at will be a very interesting boat and should do well, as long as price is kept below £200k for twin diesels.

Downside of German build means strong £ currently will push UK price up. If they are quoting £140k start price, this will probably mean minimum £180k delivered with a steering wheel.

I applaud Hanse and other manufacturers for building boats in this category.

This is a few feet shorter than a Fairline T34 (LOA) but could be good if packaged well. I doubt may peeps will buy a single engine one or D3 twins so price is gonna be nearer £200k all in with decent motors and spec. Still, could be a very nice pre-owned buy in a few years.

Aren't the D3's supposed to be lacking?

I've heard many worrying things about the D3. I don't want to be specific, but surely a pair of D4's would be the business? :encouragement:

I'd have the latest D3's, which share almost nothing except the block with the previous attempt.
Previous generation D3's, bargepole, touch, not, do, with ... or something.

Well, according to the press release single D6 or twin D3 are the only choices, so either buyers agree with these choices or they buy a different boat.

Can't see what should be bad about a single D6, surely it would be cheaper to both buy and own than a twin installation. 330hp and 28kts does however seem a little modest, maybe a D6-370 would be a better choice.

Reminds me of going full circle back to the Sealine 30 where it all started.

That would add more than 1200lb to the boat compared to D3s, largely negating any potential performance gains , leaving you with a higher purchase price and increased fuel consumption for any given speed.

Did the press release actually say they were the only options? This would indicate 440hp is an
Option...

Clarification - when you open the Spec link the most powerful option is 2*D3 220hp which would obviously be the best choice, albeit a more expensive one.

The PDF also shows he optional door that shuts off the front cabin

All looks really good. Will be interesting to see how it sells as its the kind of boat that I've wanted the uk builders to build for years.
