After determining the leak on my boat was coming from the outside water i have taken the boat out to inspect for broken seals etc i can t seem to locate a problem externally is it possible that the water is coming in through the bilge outlet and if so would a non return valve solve the problem if you have any other thoughts i would greatly appreciate your help as iam at my wits end with this ongoing leak thanks for your time..

If its a bilge outlet coming back into the boat, I would suggest a non-return valve AND looping the pipe up high above the waterlline to stop it coming in.

After similar 'leak' traumas .....
Decent non return valves should be fitted to all outlets / potential sources as I found that especially at anchor and sometimes underway the pressure of waves and wash can force water up over the u bends and into bilge(s).
Do check that the non returns are working properly even when new as I unfortunately fitted a 'dodgy one' that then leaked to frustrate me even more !
Good luck

Bear in mind that the higher the loop and the more the bends in the discharge pipe, the more work the pump will have to do expel water, all adds up to a lower pump rate.

You will also find that the extra load on the pump will make it draw more current, etc, etc.

Once you've done the work, check the pump rate (measured bucket to catch the outflow against time), make sure you are happy with it, and keep it running for say 15 mins and check for any heat in the wiring and/or the CB tripping. If there are issues, beef up the wiring.

I had a similar problem on my Sealine S24, I found a leak through the platform ladder where a vent is located, the water was basically coming through the blower vent, this only occured occasionally. Also fitted a non return valve on the bilge pipe as I also found water back feeding.
