Anyone out there have any idea what might be on the constant live "Aux" breaker as mine is tripping or is it a case of a previous owner has wired something to it that I will have to find!

Leave it tripped (while you are inboard of course!) and see what doesn't work? Simple I know in theory

Thanks mil1194 - as you say, works in theory. However, everything seems to be working but there must be a fault somewhere.

I can't think of what else would need a constant live.......

From memory i think there is 3 Aux switch/breakers, I think with mine i can account for 3 as follows. one is the aft shower/sink sump pump and the other is for the forward heads sump pump. I only discovered this when after taking a shower at either the aft or the front heads the water that drained from the shower entered the bilge in this area and had to figure how to supply power to the pumps. 3rd Aux switch i think is wired to the tv aerial amplfier.

My thoughts were simply that if it appears that all works with it tripped (including bilge pumps!) then leave it off completely until you do find it. One thought is that something was attached in the past to it and perhaps snipped off when owners changed and tree may be. Loose live cable dangling somewhere that trips when it hits something (acting as an earth). Just another aimless thought!

Thanks for the reply. Do you know which of your aux breakers you mentioned is on the constant live section of the board, from memory on mine the constant live breakers are marked "Radio, Bilge 1, Bilge 2, Bilge 3 and Aux".

I think I know which ones are the shower pump breakers, like you that was trial and error to find them and I don't have a TV amp unless Sealine have fitted one somewhere!

Also worthy of note is my after sink drains straight through under the bathing platform not into the shower sump. This means that we have to put the sink plug in before we go to sea or else the heads gets exhaust fumes in it......... I think I prefer the shower sump setup, may have to put that on the list of things to do

For info when you switch it on you can see the high current being drawn on the amp meter and it then trips. This makes it look like the fault is permanant so if I have to start tracing wires then at least it will be easier to find......

Thanks for the thoughts, aimless or otherwise.

Just in case anyone else searches the forum for this, the answer on mine is that it supplies the shower sump pump. Strange as there is already a breaker marked "Shower" which obviously does nothing!

The other thing that is strange is that we used the shower that morning. Guess we were lucky that it was still working at the time.

The aft shower pump has siezed which is the problem. Have swapped it for the forward one as no one uses that.

Next problem is that Attwood no longer make the V750 bilge pump. Any ideas anyone?

maybe you should move the wiring for the actual shower circuit off the Aux to the shower circuit switch save you having to stick a label on the Aux.
i keep meaning to label mine as i always forget which Aux is which

I think that is a very good idea which I shall be looking into the next time I have the back off of the electrical panel - thanks
