Hi All
My F33 has got a bad rain water leak, I left the flybridge cover off for a week and today managed to get back to the boat to find water dripping, when you walk in past the patio door and turn left, the waters coming in that corner high up above the heater control. Wondered if anybody has any idea of where the leak might be.
Many Thanks
Mike

If it's a similar layout to the F37, there's a drain on the flybridge that comes down through the superstructure there. If the jubilee clip has come off, it would drip there. You should be able to get to it easily enough, I'd have thought.

Wiggo if only it was that simple!!!!!!
First thing I checked, dry as a board. Doesn't matter if the Fly cover has been on or not either.
Have resealed all visible probable culprits. Somebody on the forum suggested that water gets in through the spotlight mounting plate then lies in the void between the brow and the flybridge steps and leaks out when the boat moves. It is the only 'intrusion' I haven't resealed as yet as quite difficult to get to. Thinking of filling the void (you can get to it via the cockpit o/h locker) with expanding foam !!
Unless somebody advises against it.

Damn! What you wrote sounds plausible, I suppose, but I would have expected you to be able to find traces of water from that source on the starboard side too. I presume there's an overhead leccy panel at the lower helm that would let you get into that 'brow' area.

Thats a good idea and certainly worth a go , but I will attempt 'top side' first by bedding the spot light on plumbers putty and then applying acrylic sealer round the edges.
The leak doesn't show starboard side at all, there is possibly a former or similar that seals that side off .

On the 37, when you open that panel you can stick your head in and see the deck head to either side and I can't see anything that would make water go one way and not the other. From memory, you can't see the underside of the searchlight directly, but I can't be at all sure on that. If it is working its way aft, then you should find evidence for it part way through the saloon. Have a look up into the channels where the curtain rails sit, and you may find ventilation grilles let into the inboard side. These open onto the channel that any water would have to run through, I think.

The panels much smaller on the F33 , I don't think much access here. But I will follow up your other suggestions and thanks for your help. I have emailed Sealine today about the problem and will publish their reply.

Oh Yeah!

You think they will reply.....

Good luck with that one.....

I am just about to hand all over to solicitors as the dealer and Sealine are not responding to any questions....

Hi Mike,
That's the usual place that you see water dripping from 'any' water ingress upstairs.
Mine used to leak there. Sealing the join where the white panel at the front of the windscreen joins the cabin roof solved mine.
I have also heard it makes its way in through flyridge windscreen securing screw holes and through side rail securing holes.
I have a radio fitted to the left side of the overhead leccy panel.
It's possible to take the radio out (including mounting) and look/feel for 'snail trails' of water from front to back (there's fibreglass dust all over the place that gets washed away if there's a water leak). Alternatively you could try putting some coloured chalk dust up there to see where it gets washed away.
Don't expect Sealine to reply. No one there now knows the quirks of the F33 other then the engineering manager and he's very difficult to get hold of. Try finding a local Sealine/ex Sealine employee that knows about this stuff. I know my local Ancaster guy does!

Although I have sold my boats, my f33 had this problem too. I used a product called creeping crack cure and then followed on with white silicone to : all stanchion mount plates, both on cabin roof/deck and around flybridge. spotlamp mountings and anything else anywhere above window height that had a fixing innit. ALso the scupper on the fly floor at top of steps can allow water to track down the outside of its pipe so I managed to seal that too during some engineering mods on the boat. Hope this helps. Roy

Try leaving the boat with a slight list to starboard next time you leave the boat. Mine usually lists slightly to port as i leave the boat via the rear portside door as the fuel and water sloshes that side. At least you can then confirm if the water is entering from the area beneath the top windscreen.
