Advice please. Horns have stopped working. I have checked as much of the wiring as is visible and all appears ok so imagine that the units have failed, unless there is a fuse unit located somewhere that I have missed. Any advice appreciated, Thanks Ian

Hi Rob
Just a visual inspection at present , I forgot about tester and left it in the garage, doh !!! I will try circuits with tester at weekend . Thanks Ian

Hi
If I may use my S28 as an example, I have replaced the horns once already, when I spoke with the guys at Hamble they told me it was quite normal to have to change them, apparently it is lack of use that corrodes the bi-metalic strip inside, so when I am out and about and no one else is around I give my horns a blast, up to now the current set have lasted almost 5 years.
This does not mean however this is the problem with yours so I would check for voltage at the horn end of the wiring.
Hope this is of some help.

Both my horns failed to work recently. I removed them, lobbed them into a skip from a distance of about 15 ft, bought new ones, and they now work.

Take off the stainless covers from the back of the horns.. there will be a small phillips head screw with some sealant around it under the covers - whilst getting someone to hold down the horn button, twiddle the screws first one way then t'other. They will work again. (assuming no other fault etc...)

This screw is used to adjust the throw of the bimetallic strip inside, and as others have said, lack of use causes them to stick / corrode. By getting them to start moving with this tuning screw it jump starts them back to life. Then use them a lot (every time you're out) and they should be ok.
