Just returned tonight from a evening trip to the Isle of Wight to find my engine room 3" deep in red diesel. There is a leak from under the port tank .Has anyone had the pleasure of removing F33 fuel tanks? Can this be done without cutting anything? Any advice will be welcomed. Dave

A guy in the berth next to me had similar issue with his f33 - from memory you only need to unscrew the cover underneath the ladder which goes into the engine bay - that gave him access to fuel tank -

Can't offer any advice..... Sorry.

We heard on the VHF on Sunday a boat with a bilge full of fuel, can't say I'd like to be out and find that situation. Must be very frightening.

Best of luck with the fix, keep us up dated.

My F33 , which I bought this year, has new tanks as a leak was found during the survey. We were lucky in that the leak was only revealed when the surveyor took the boat out for a trial.
The work was done by the marina and I didn't witness work in progress so I don't know exact details
But the saloon floor panel just inside the patio doors is above the tanks and it is removable .
The only evidence of work I can see is sound insulation panel between the tanks and the engine bay had been cut out and re-fitted.But it has been cut very neatly so the cut is barely visible.
The tanks were taken out and sent off so copies could be made . This avoided any changes to the plumbing for fuel pipes .
I have kad32 engines which leaves plenty of space in the engine bay.

Thanks for that Martyn. In the gloom last night it looked they might come straight up just inside the patio door and all the fuel and elect. connectors appear on the top. I would like to know about the bulkhead behind the engines. Mine are 6cyl. 4.2 so they may be a little longer? Do you have the contact details of the firm that carried out your work? The irony is that My surveyor flagged up the security of the tanks back in 2000 when I bought the boat but Sealine stated at the time that all was in order. Dave

The work on my boat was done at Burton Waters, Lincoln. They didn't make the new tanks. The new tanks were made somewhere near Norwich I think.

You will certainly have less space in the engine bay compared to mine due to the your six cylinder engines.

Not sure what you mean about security of the tanks.

Got the fuel tanks out the weekend,a bit of a work up but doable. After disconnecting the fuel lines and sender etc the tank could be lifted on end to remove. In order to do this the bulkhead panel in front of the engines needs 4 screws to be removed. Either you have to remove the trunking and electrics oor cut 30mm of the top of the panel to clear the engine bay combing. The tank was so full of crud that i removed both tanks. It was found that there was a small hole in the bottom corner of the tank. Dave

Hi, Dave
I read your thread: "Sealine F33 fuel tanks" from october 2014.
After discovering lots of diesel in the motor room and in the botom of my F33 have concluded at that I have a leak tank. (After removing the foam in front of the tank I can sea diesel around the tanks).
When reading your post I didn't completely understand the part "In order to do this the bulkhead panel in front of the engines needs 4 screws to be removed.."
Is there some screws I can remove to completely remove the panel between the engine room and the tanks?
If so where are these screw located?
" Either you have to remove the trunking and electrics oor cut 30mm of the top of the panel to clear the engine bay combing"
Is this trunking the cable duct that is located on the bottom of the panel between the engine room and the tanks?
If you can take the time to elaborate this i would be very much appreciated! :)

Best regards
