Just been reading the review in MBY. Looks an absolute stunner. First new model I've really liked for ages.

And appears to be priced in Euros from €180k. Almost rude not to for GBP buyers at the moment... :D apart from the fact that boating is in terminal decline, of course

Saw it in Dusseldorf last month; good looks, spacious main deck, practical solutions and as you mention favorably priced, but doors below are damn narrow.... something like 16-17". Don't know if relevant, but I'm not particular big and I felt it was a little tight getting in and out
And notice it's a heavy boat for its size; something of a dog unless you go for the biggest engine(s). Cheapest option is a D6-330, but only makes 26-27 knots on a (very) optimistic day, which is unusual low for a boat with stern drive(s)

Heavy boat for it's size usually equals great sea keeping for any given marina fee.
Engines to go for would be the D6-400 if you want a single, or twin D3-220: both options will get you 30kts+

They look pretty clever but the quality of fit and finish have declined massively since the Kidderminster days. Also the standard equipment has been sliced hence the lowish headline price.

Not at all what it seems IMHO

In the same issue of MBY there is a used boat test of the early noughties Sealine F34 which MBY price at north of £100k.

I was wondering if pricing the S330 as Hanse has done might make people wonder why they would want to pay pretty much the same money for a 10 y/o f/b rather than a brand new sportscruiser of the same size.

I would go for the 10 y/o f/b - I must be the only one that thinks the S330 is ugly especially the odd bow shape.. F34 is much better looking boat.

I specced up an S330 at the show and it came in at over £210k.

2007 F34 £100k in northern france

Not sure how you equate £100k used boat to new S330 money

Exactly so. In the mag, MBY quote current prices for F34 as £100k - £140k. Same edition of same mag quotes S330 from €145k (currently <£110k). I appreciate that that would be a spec which many people wouldn't want and also that the £100k F34 would probably sell for somewhat less. But there does seem to be an overlap on pricing which I would expect to drive secondhand F34 prices downwards.

I know. I couldn't work out where the price came from. I think UK dealers are hedging the euro and just inflating the price for the perceived 'home' market.

I've just found a D3 engined boat with spec on for €173k inc vat from the german dealer.

That's about £130k which is much more like it and at that money you have a point

Maybe we should start a little business importing them!
