Sealine 43 Billet Bouy. Harleyford.

If that name is correct the owner is dixlectic.

.....and one of only 3 flybridge 40ft (ish) boats actually on the market in the entire British Isles. The others are located in somewhere called Scotland ? and halfway towards Lands End.
Recent viewings have taken us to Wales and far beyond the M25 to the land of ferrets, pigeons and whippets.
Assume they boil them or something to make them edible ?
A visit to much warmer climes where you can actually see more than 6" under water has been booked.

Went to look at 2 x F 43 today, one really was a much loved , well maintained peach of a boat with several quite expensive extras . Everything from the covers in was clean and tidy and showed the owner cared.
The other was in every single respect totally the opposite.
How can somebody let something that expensive get so shabby.

So hopefully you bought the first one....!

The nice one. :)
Was in the area when broker phoned. Asked us to give it an hour to allow the owner to collect personal stuff off and get out of their car park.
Keys still warm from being handed over.
Doubt what to put on the listing will even be thought about until Monday.
Did request details of where the boat had spent its previous life and any service history.
Awaiting details.
Lunched with B1 at White Waltham.

Might have annoyed the broker selling the less than a bargain boat.
Did mention the only reason we were even considering a Sealine was due to fact that there were no Prinlines on the market, all sold ages ago.
He did then mention he owned a Sealine. :)
To be fair the broker was very helpful and welcoming on a very cold wet and windy morning and let us look at all the paperwork which came with the boat.

Hi OG, another f43 just has just come to the market at TBS, Penton Hook (Cloud 9).
Went to see it at Penton and very nice boat indeed certainly the best of those we have seen, feel sure somebody will buy it soon.

However after searching for a boats all over Blighty have finally come to the conclusion that "Staycationitus" has resulted in a severe distortion of the market for 40ft flybridge boats.
Prices being asked have lost all connection to actual value of a boat and a boat being worth what somebody will pay for it has come true.

Went to view a bit of an orphan boat not that long ago.
Able to discover what the boat had been bought for. The present asking price was 30K above what it was bought for, it also needs expensive work, still not fixed after purchase by the seller.
Suspect the £2.00 litre is going to bring some reality back to the market.
Going to wait this one out.

A 41ft boat that struggled to sell at £90k a few years ago sold for £120k in 2021 and again last month for £159k . Asking prices but you get the picture.

Not sure what you want really if you found a well presented boat that ticks all the boxes except its not a Princess.
Cloud 9 looks like it has been very much cherished .
Sealine F43 Used Boat for Sale 1998
Why did you not buy it ?

Fair enough OG, if you’ve still got a boat then there is no rush. It’s the same with house prices at the mo, which still seem to be going up even though our expenditure is rising fast, - I can’t see house prices continuing to rise, and would bet on a change in direction - but I accept, no one can know for sure. It’s all about personal choices. :-)

In the finance bill 2021 it specfically says that UK boats are allowed to use rebated diesel and biofuels.

I know with world events prices are volatile but it seems like all the 60/40 split thing is now just nonsense.

That's how I read it. Obviously it is for the rdco to choose their profit margins but this seems quite clear:

  • as fuel for all marine craft refuelling and operating in the UK (including fishing and water freight industries), except for propelling private pleasure craft in Northern Ireland.

From here :

Changes to rebated diesel and biofuels from 1 April 2022

." One is the 3 cab version"
Has done around an estimated 1800 hours and have one very quick look at the interior. :)
Again its about 30K OTP.
Buy it now and kiss 30Gs goodbye , when the market sorts itself out.
Boats and Outboards and NewsNow have a email system that will send you an email when any boat price drops.
Lots of emails arriving at the moment mostly saying 10K down.
If your buying hold off, if somebody gives you a decent offer on your boat take it ?
Large fly bridge in Wales came onto the market at £167.000 it took a whole week to drop to offers on £155.000.

Yh the interior is pretty shabby & has been on the books for a long time. Saw a slightly older 420 statesman for £99,950 on the market today, any good for you?

I've eyed up my next boat, 3 cabin, mid 40ft range for a decent price. Having looked back at the selling price of these, it’s up for the same price as they we’re back in 2017.

A T40 like mine just popped up on the market the other day for over £70k more than what I paid for mine in 2020, if I got an offer on mine anywhere near what this ones asking I’d take it tomorrow

.............and very very Green. :)
The wonder of Google.
A well known forumite and who also posts on the Sealine forum advertised his early version of the F43 a F390. Offers on £80K. 2 years ago.
...............did need a bit of work.

I guess many people are concerned about finances and inflation due to increased energy costs at the moment so buying a boat might be less of a priority than it was. Events in recent weeks may have changed things in ways we have yet to fully understand.
So perhaps boats may not sell so promptly as they have in recent times.
In particular will motorboats not sell due to concerns about fuel costs and availability?

Couple of smaller boats have just changed hands in past day or two along with just about the most pampered boat have ever seen..
Sold quckly within the club at a price that even i would have paid. :)
A Sealine 42/5.
Stuff is still selling if the price is right.

OG we must be following you around! we are looking at an F43 and have been since around June last year. We have looked at a dozen now and echo your comments about the state of some of them. one we looked at, the shower in the aft cabin, all the controls had fallen away from the wall, nearly all the cupboard locks where broken. One we opened the door in front of the fridge in the galley and it wasn't even attached on the bottom. Yet asking very strong money. We have found two that have been well looked after so far.

If you want an opinion on the one in lock Lomand my friend runs one of the sales pontoons up there and lives about 300m from that particular boat.

Out of the ones you've seen so far which did you like the best? We've really struggled to find something we like. Even the one at TBS has hull damage that's not been professionally repaired and half the door locks are broken on that too :-( always raises doubt in my mind where is the simple things are not right then what chance is there of the major ones?

In my humble opinion the market has gone nuts.
One F43 we went to look at (no names :) ) obviously unused for some time , interior was scruffy and neglected to say the least. Lockers full of rusty junk with layer of dirt in the bottom of them all.
OG is notorious for his "Just want to look in the bilges if thats OK" and Yes ,we know it means moving the furniture in the saloon and lifting the carpet under the stairs in the galley.
Boat looked as though it had only recently been dragged round from its mooring and dumped on the Sales pontoon. Covers were almost impossible to remove, stiff as a board.
Managed to look at the brokers folder on the boat history ... The boat was sold about 4 years previously offers on £120.000. The buyers survey detailed several expensive to fix items requiring attention , thruster U/S and some other major bits disconnected for safety . None of the above jobs appeared to have been done ,ie the thruster was still faulty.
Do know that an offer of £130K was made subject to survey but was turned down.
The other F43 we looked at was in much much nicer condition and with many more useful accessories for more or less the same money. A warm dry and clean boat ready to go but still to much money.

Princess 440. Sold by Boats.co.uk pre Covid , offers on £90K now back on the market for £125K .
SOLD 1996 Princess 440 - Boats.co.uk
A dilligent search can usually indicate what any boat would have sold for pre pandemic.
My boat is sold, my prospective buyer has already sold his boat and is boatless waiting for me to find something.
Now just sitting on my hands waiting for the inevitable correction, the first signs are starting to appear.
Suspect that the first time folks have to fill up at £1.30 a litre for Red will have some effect.
Looking at the NewsNow price reduction search engine, the initial plan appears for brokers to stick the boat on at a Suck it and See price followed by 10% reduction about week later ?
