went to put diesal in port tank yesterday, only to find it 'blowback' out of filler tube. could only get about 25 litres in
VERY SLOWLY by filling to top and allowing to drain down.
Have been advised most likely cause is a blocked fuel breather pipe. Starboard side filled OK
Does anyone have any experience as to what and how to fix
problem Please?
Any help gratefully accepted-thanks

Hi,
had this problem on my petrol boat but probably applies to diesel. On my breather there is a flame arrester wire gauze thats held in by a circlip. Removed clip with terminal screwdriver and cleaned the gauze, replaced and big improvement.

Might be worth a try.................Rich

What you might have is an air lock in the breather pipe caused by fuel getting into a low point in the pipe between the tank and the breather outlet.

I would trace the path of the breather pipe to check this and rectify if necessary.
