Due to concerns about hull flexing (gelcoat is crazed), it has been suggested that I remove the fuel tanks to check the condition of the internal stiffening. Anyone any idea how easily the tanks will come out (or not!)?

I don't really know about the model you refer to but I do have experience on fuel tank removal, and it aint easy. Basically a lot of MoBo's have the hull and topsides built around the tank. The hull is constructed first, then the larger internal gubbins is installed and the topsides placed on and moulded to the hull afterwards.

You can remove a tank by cutting through the topsides stringers, and if done correctly and replaced correctly, this will not damage the integrity of the hull.

But is it worth it??? My advice (for what it's worth) is look for another boat, and when you find one without gel-coat crazing, get the under side of the tank inspected - cos that's the reason I had to have mine removed after I bought the boat. The survey didn't pick up the badly corroded tank!! 5 GRAND!! Ouch!
