This is probably a really dumb question:
My Dad's Sealine 218 is on the hard for the winter. She's got shore power, so the batteries are charging nicely. However the running lights (which were working fine when I last tested them about three days ago) now won't come on. My question is: does anyone else have problems with the 218's electrics? Occasionally the cockpit distribution panel (the one with the wipers, bilge pumo etc) lights up but sometimes it doesn't, although the switches seem to work ok. I can't see any loose connections and the fuses are all fine. Is there some sort of combination between the aux switches on the main distribution panel in the cabin and the cockpit distribution panel to get it going - and fix my running lights? I've tried almost every combination I can think of but it just seems temperamental. Is it possible, for example, that the running lights will only work when shore power is disconnected? I've tried doing that very thing - but no result. Sorry - this is all a bit garbled, but I wanted to see if there was a really simple answer before having to call out 'Nick the engineer.' He's good - but I don't want to waste his time.
Thanks in advance,
Rob
