Hi All

Apologies if i have posted this in the wrong section.

I have a Sealine 190 (1988-1990) basics are, it wouldn't start, so we replaced the Alternator, cap, rotor arm still no spark, turned over ok, but no spark.

Got it down to the ignition coil and then to the 8 terminal module, it's this that we need to replace, but i have had more luck finding Lord Lucan, one appeared in the US but that has gone, so my question to you all, if we want to bypass the module and stick an electronic ignition conversion kit / or something similar, but how the hell do i know what one to buy, the engine is an AQ171C 2.3L Petrol (Volvo Penta)

Added Note: Doesn't have to be an electric ignition, anything that will start this boat will do, it's been sat in a Marina in Caversham for 16 months, surely there has to be somebody that's been in a similar position

If anyone has any info, i would be eternally grateful for some, this has been an arduous last 16 months.

Thank you.

I feel your pain.
I have twin AQ171c’s and many of the parts are obsolete and it’s a constant challenge to keep them running.
It is a shame as providing they are looked after, they are not bad engines being fairly light-weight and reasonably economical (as far as petrol engines go).
There was talk a while back that a Volvo 740 ignition module part number 1367438 was pretty close to the marine version 855612, but I couldn’t get confirmation. It was suggested that the timing was very slightly different – so if anybody can confirm, that would be good.
