Seagull Poop on boat

Now I an on the mooring I think that all the Seagulls on the east coast have decided to use my boat as their toilet. I have a Toueau cover and it is covered in poop. My boat is a 17 foot sports cruiser.

I was wondering if Gullsweeps http://outboardservices.co.uk/product/complete-6′-gullsweep-gs-1/ work. Or what other devices people are using with effect

The only thing I've ever found effective is to cover the boat with a net. This is time consuming to fit and a complete pain in the **se. Other than that, if it were legal (which it isn't), you would need to be a good shot.

Had a gull sweep when we had canvass, worked well.
The arms have a tendency to bend under stress and you need to make sure they don't bow and catch the canvass. Otherwise they are worth it.

When we were in a swing mooring I made up a bird scarer with some rope run from the bow to each corner of the stern over the top and 1M lengths of bird scaring tape ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bird-Dete...igeon-Scare-Repeller-Ribbon-90M-/151988480112 ) about 0.5-1M intervals hanging off it.. Cost about 10 quid all in.. Boat looked a bit like a christmas tree but it worked well.. Only only issue was in high winds the tape would crack and split at the ends and eventually fall apart so plan was to reinforce it with some duct tape or similar at the ends but we then moved the boat to a dry stack so I didn't bother..

Ha! Seagulls like certain colours. I swear it. Look in a car park. Always one car gets it. When I had red covers. I had a guano factory going. Same as black. Tan was poop free. What raises my ire is I went from red to tan to bloody black !!!!!!!

I also had this suspicion.. Looking around the marina all the dark blue canopies seem to have far more poop on them than the tan/light brown ones.. I went with a nice "Taupe" when we changed the cover on the last boat..

Gull sweeps all the way they're the best things I've ever used, not cheap but worth it

I had them fitted on my old boat and will be fitting them to the new one, aside from their effectiveness they only take seconds to remove unlike your old CD collection, flags, nets etc.

If you zoom in on the pics below you'll see the state of everything around my boat. When I took this pic my boat genuinely hadn't been washed for 2 weeks

As far as I know one of the parts of teak 2 part cleaner gets it off. I guess it is the first one
