Seagull Engines - how much?

Anyone know what these are going for these days... any special ones to look out for to pretty up the shed!?

Whatever you can get for them. Would be special to make more than £100. Be careful that you choose the right model for your application. For a dinghy a 40+ short shaft, preferably post 1980 with a clutch. For sailboat auxiliary Century+ or one of the later models with an FNR gearbox, usually long shaft.

Search on eBay, then look at completed listings.
Up to £50 for a non-runner, up to £120 for a good runner.

Spares don't look cheap!

If its to treasure as an antique/ collectors item rather than to use keep an eye open for one the the original Marston Engines.

Beware of ebay tat which is not genuine/ what the vendor claims and bitsas

( beware also of forumites who used to work for British Seagull in its dying days :D )

He keeps his boat in Bradwell Marina by the look of it
by his s/h prices i will strip mine down & place on fleabay

I bought my Seagull - forty featherweight - off ebay 5 years ago for £50. Fully operational although I did put a new throttle cable on it. 5 years on it's still going strong and will probably outlive me.
No clutch so it's a bit hairy leaving and arriving but OK in between.

At the paisley boat jumble, just gone, just missed a non runner that turned over well, with compression for £15
