I had two Seago 'Olympic' 175N LJ's replaced by Seago earlier this year. They gradually let out air and they told me there seemed to be a problem with the oral inflation valve. It may be that this is the same issue evident on a wider scale.
They don't seem to have addressed what we are supposed to do whilst awaiting a replacement --- which could be ages if they are overwhelmed. They should send out the replacement before requiring return (a slightly suspect jacket better than none at all).
Also, shouldn't they be paying the return postage ? ..... if they hope to maintain any good reputation.

Thanks also. Have two affected (both II/06).

Seago should offer a replacement service via chandlers (a la Paynes Wessex re the recent flares issue).
I've got 8 Seagos to check - and they are on the yacht in Spain.; so I will call Seago tomorrow and see what they say regarding returns as necessary
Hmm, I've got two 1/06s that have to go back. They are pretty well immaculate as well. What a shame, but even more of a shame if they don't quite work when they ought to.
I have spoken to Seago as there is a possibility that the 4 new ones I bought in September last year might be in the batch. They are on the boat in Corfu and the advice was to let them have the serial numbers and they will replace the jackets minus the cylinders as the fault is not there and cylinders are difficult to transport by air. Return the originals when possible. Have somebody going out to the boat this weekend and have instructions to check. Hopefully will not be in the defective batch.
having read this post earlier i checked my only seago lj and low and behold 11/06 i telephoned seago who said that when received they would send out a replacement presumably a new one by return of post. mine was posted back before last post today at a cost of £5.20 this however is not of primary inportance but i hope that seago do consider this. but at least i will have some pease of mind re life jacket.
SEAGO suggested that to minimise down-time, I could deliver my jackets today to a particular chandler (Chichester), and they would have the replacements there tomorrow. They also assured me the replacements would be brand-new.
As long as all goes to plan, I will be well pleased.
The link above is now dead, error 404.
Googling I found the datils again and the two I bought at SIBS are batch I/07.
Does any one know the turnround time on these, as I need them for RTIW 2008 on 28/6....
