Peregrine is on a drying pontoon in soft mud up Fareham creek. Up until now I have always used Cruiser Uno and it's sort of OK but it wears away quickly in the mud. Leads me to believe anything other than a "hard racing" type scrubbable AF will be the same so I am inclined to either use the cheapest I can find or go for HR type. I see Seago do both types and they are loads cheaper than Uno. Any thoughts out there? By the way I need to apply between tides so need one that dries quickly....

I'm about to try Seago for the first time. I got the cheapest I could find, and was told that one reason it is cheap is the colour is not stable. That doesn't worry me too much - sartorial is not one of my strong facets.
If it turns out that the other reason is because it doesn't work, I'll be here with the rest of you moaning!
(Just over £10/lit in Duncans, Glasgow)

I've used Seago for a few seasons - swinging mooring on the Ore. Seems to be about as effective as any other. I agree that it changes colour quite a lot after immersion.

Excellent. Which do you use? There seems to be "Cruising" "High Performance" and "Extra strength" which is a hard racing type. Im wondering if the latter might be better on a mud berth and have the occasional scrub....

I use the cheapest Seago and spend all summer cruising the west coast of Scotland with no problems, including colour stability. Yes, Duncan's of Glasgow do a good deal.

Have drying moorind in mud. Every antifouling that I have used turns black where it sits in the mud. Last time that I was in a yard,I asked everybody who was antifouling if I could try a sample on the fins, same result all turned black, thats from the really pricey to the cheapest so for me its a waste of money, stern tube grease works well if it were not for the film of mud that coats everthing Barnicles do not like grease but stuck to the mud film but came off easiley. So my friend You are not alone. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well yes I know it's a common problem. That's why I asked! Interestingly I just phoned Seago and they said use the extra strength one. Makes sense probably as it is less likely to just wear of in the mud. Be good to hear from someone who has used it though...
