Seafarer Voyager Log

My seafarer Voyager Log instrument has given up the ghost. Totally blank screen. The depth and wind still work. It is very well installed to the extent that I cannot get at anything (except the sender unit) without ripping out quite a lot of panelling, so I would rather know if I was going to be able to achieve anything before I do that! I have no documentation, so I am working totally blind. Can anyone tell me if there is any fuse or anything in the display unit? Also, can I get into the sender unit? The insulation on the connection wire has broken at the point where it goes into the sender so I need to reconnect it.
