I have a Seafarer 701 which powers up OK but the diodes and the digital readout do not function. I have opened it up and the diode? R45 is burnt out, so badly I can't see what it is. Does anyone out there have a circuit diagram, or any knowledge of what this diode is? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Another Seafarer problem . My depth finder display is like this when turning on 00 then it goes like this -- . There is a through the hull transponder which is mounted in a black plastic threaded thingy, this has two knuts on it which do not appear to do anything at all except you can move them up and down the threaded bit. By fiddling about with the wire to the transponder I can get the depth finder to work...it then displays the depth very well, but then packs up again. holding the wire and pushing it solidly on the transponder is rather impractical and duck tape the old favorite doesn't work for long either.
Any bright ( and sensible) ideas?
