Help!
I have a Seafarer S100 log which is now u/s. I know Seafarer have gone out of business but does anyone know where I mind find a replacement? It would appear that there are no existing paddle wheel logs that fit the Seafarer fitting unless someone knows different??

I used to have one but got rid of it years ago - too much maintenance.

Paddle wheel logs are going the way of the dinosaurs. With the information available on a GPS, most people rely on it for velocity information, and keep an odometer log by hand using total distance covered information from the GPS.

About the only people still insisting on a paddle wheel log are fine tuned racing boats that need instant velocity response information for sail trimming.

Speedograph Richfield specialise in these type of logs and in fact if you go www.EBAY.co.uk right this very minute there is a auction of marine analouge on know incl of transducers with
paddel wheels.
I have just bought one for £25.00 and its a very nice instrument indeed.

When you log on go to the sports goods section on the right hand side then onto boating they have calibrated logs ) 0 to 10 knots and also 0 to 20 knots.
Good Luck

I did away with logs years ago opting for a Garmin 126/128 as a speedo. My latest boat is fitted with two paddle wheel speedos and a quick check over a measured mile proved them to quite inaccurate, indeed by up to 20% at lower speeds. I will be whacking on a Garmin 128 this week. Much more reliable, easy to fit and of course it's an excellent GPS too. ;)
