Seafarer converter box ?

Removing a panel in the saloon I found a "Seafarer converter or conversion box" I don't have any Seafarer displays, I suspect its just been left in after upgrading.
Please can someone tell me what it did/does ?

I found an old post by googling it, it came up with you ! It appears you are the authority on these, are you sure you don't need it for a nautical museum piece ?

i still have the twin transducers in place, the switch was removed 12 yrs ago

I will have to follow the wires, to see if I have transducers attached, I do hope not....

mine are internally fitted in tubes
