Yes it's an oldie - but still working and I need a manual which shows the wiring block / connections on the back.

Can anyone help with a manual ?? PM me please ....

I have got a very old Seafarer that I no longer use, and have even got the original manual. I am not sure on the exact model but will check when I next go to the boat... should be this week. I will let you know if it is the right one.

Looking at your photos I think mine is even older! I haven't got all the knobs on the front like yours just one or two to change sensitivity/scale.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I will be able to help this time.
 
I have a Seafarer 501, and a manual. I carry my paperwork back and forwards between the house and the boat, so it is at hand.

The connection description should be on the inside of the battery cover.

Anyway

Connections 1-4 are for the repeater

1 - Signal (Green)
2 - +5V (Red)
3 - -ve/Scr ( Blu/Scr)
4 - Zero ( Yellow)

If you need more info, then say so. I could scan it if you need it.

PS - How do find your unit? My main problem is that the input connection is a TV coax plug - but the cable from the transducer is much thinner than TV Coax so the plug doesn't connect to the cable (shield) that well. A fault normally shows up on the 20M range, and systoms are a continuous circle of light, and a squeal - and of course it happens just when you're dependant on it.
 
Haven't actually got to use it yet .... so would be really appreciative of the manual scanned and forwarded ... please PM me for e-mail address ... as I don't like to put it out too publicly !!

Many thanks .... (I had a 701 on the UK boat which stopped working ... replaced that with digital ... this 501 is for my Latvian boat .....)

I've been surprised at the number of requests for a copy of this manual since the origional thread - I must take the time to count them sometime.

Edit - Just to help out Mr Google - someone sent me a PDF of the manual for the SeaFarer 700, so if anyone needs a copy then I can oblige.
