Hello all, I have nearly finished restoring a Seafarer 465 and was wondering what the correct spinnaker size is, and how long the pole should be? Happy sailing to you all!
Best wishes,water womble.

Don't know the boat, but a good starting point would be that the pole should be of length "J". That is equal to the distance from the base of the mast to the bottom of the forestay. being slightly longer is no bad thing, but try not to be shorter as this can mean any mistakes spearing the pole through the jib, which is generally considered a bad idea.

Then spinnaker size, look at the hoist being just slightly longer than the distance between the halyard exit and the height of the pole fixing on the mast, but not quite as long as the distance from the halyard exit and the deck.

Flaming is absolutely correct in his advice. However, unless you want to fork out for brand new made to measure, I would look at the dimensions for some of the popular racing dinghies (possibly GP14, Wanderer, Wayfarer, old rules Merlin Rocket ) see what is similarly sized, and then ask around, you will probably get something broadly suitable for little or nothing.
