Milford Haven Waterway

Anyone got info on this festival

giving in serious consideration for a trip with my venture sea scout troop.. although I dont sail a classic

Seafair Haven is a traditional boat regatta/gathering with events at various venues around the Milford Haven Waterway.

We have registered an interest with our wooden yacht (since she is moored there) but it is up to the organisers to invite boats to attend, apparantly.

Have a look at this website: http://www.mhpa.co.uk/content.asp

Looks like we're crossing the pond:) We have 12 youth members and hopefully several boats...

Although I may sail a MGC27... not a traditional vessel.. the sea scouting training is more about seamanship(basic stuff:confused:) and that seems to be part of the remit of the weekend...............as opposed to tearing around cans...

A taste of the sea is the one salt described us.....

I have also applied, quite fancy a week or two down South Wales, lets see if they will let me in with a Mobo

Tom

I reckon you should be ok. I see a Trader Trawler Mobo listed in the entries.

I have applied also and am awaiting a reply.

What are chances of a CB forum flotilla?

SeaFair

We went to the 2008 Seafair, taking an H28 Herreschoff ketch. Inspite of some rubbish weather for part of the event, we had a thoroughly good time, and have registered again for this year. Highly recommended.

Looks good to me!

Race you down there Tom? ;)

Ok I'll take you up on that challenge...... but no spinnakers allowed.

How did it go? I took my Montagu Whaler in 2008, but was disappointed that the sail & oar fleet were kept upriver well away from everyone else, and there was no planned coming together of all boat types, such as you get in Morbihan (which I did in 2003).

Just replied to my invite to Morbihan for next year. Seafair is modeled on it and runs alternate years with the commitees chatting a lot.
The Grande Parade on the Saturday is a blast, close to 1000 boats, from square riggers down to dinghys, roaring in on a 10kt tide through the Gulf entrance. Shame that in '09 the wind was in the N. and not very strong, so the GP had to be further in at Port Blanc. Still fun though.
