Anyone know where I am likely to get a handle for a seacock? The handle has rusted away on one of my toilet ones. It is a ball valve (CR) on a fitting. Seems daft that the handles are mild steel!

Any plumbing store or such. Just a valve handle... Possible to get stainless, or galvanized, no idea what stores in UK. Just check the handle mount, some are not standard, best idea to take one (or another one...) to compare. The hole is most important.

Proper seacocks come with stainless or bronze handles... so might be good idea to check what's the stuff there.
You may get a good one http://www.deepblueyachtsupply.co.uk/valves/bronze-ball-valves/ModelNumber/00BBV100FS
or just a handle ;) http://www.deepblueyachtsupply.co.uk/valves/seacock-replacement-handles/ModelNumber/BBVKIT75LP

Does it say Italy on the handle?

Thanks, will try a plumbing shop the next time I am anywhere near one.

If you find somewhere in the UK that actually sells handles (preferably SS), let me know. I have tried and failed. Everyone wants to sell me teh complete cocks.

I have the same problem with a handle on a seacock located behind the heads. It looks very much like the previous owner wasn't very accurate!. I'll probably just take the handle home and fabricate one in s/s.

ASAP supplies ????

just got a reply from them - to an enquiry about supplying just handles. The jist of it is: " No, we don't supply replacement handles. The new seacocks we now sell come with SS handles which last longer"... i.e. if you have the older cocks whose handles were made of mild steel, you are stuffed...

The American chandlery mentioned (deepblue yacht supply) was more helpful. I just need to send them the sizes....

Just posted this reply on another similar thread, Kip Marina chandlers have the replacement red handles in stock (not sure what size though)

except that the costs of deliver FAR outweigh the actual costs of the handles. I am waiting for some US-based friend to come over and act as courier....
