We have our new 7m centre console boat arriving in the next few weeks and would like to avoid the anti foul paint route. It will be in Brighton marina and French / Italian lakes over summer and trailer stored in winter.

Would like to go the silicone route. Is there anyone with first hand experience with Seacoat?

Looked into the Silic One coating but it looks like it needs topcoating every time you take it out for over 4 weeks, which is not ideal.

I have read quite a bit about the pros and cons of the silicone based systems but would like to hear real world feedback.

Also interested in Coppercoating.

There was a chap here that put on some kind of silicon coating and reported back for a couple years until they stopped manufacture of the product. Not the product you are using but a silicone base still. Worth finding and yes it seemed to work well.

Silicon coating seems to work well for large ships that are rarely stationary.
From what I've read it seems vunerable to hoist strops rubbing it off so launching and recovering on a trailer may have the same effect.
Not many have used it so not a lot of reliable information.
You would have the advantage of speed keeping it clean though

I've had Silic one on my 7 metre sports cruiser and am in my 3 rd season.

It works for me.

1.5 knots speed increase over traditional AF. Or reduced fuel consumption.

Stays clean over the whole season so no loss of performance.

I will apply one coat next year after 3 years of use.

It won't suit everyone but for me it's great.

Also it doesn't leach toxic chemicals into the Hamble....

Superheat6k of this parish was suitably impressed to apply to his 32 ft Corvette last year to.

Thanks for all the replies. I really like the idea of put on once, and it lasts 10+ years, so the Coppercoat and Seacoat really appeal. Silic one seems more ‘DIY’.
Does the coppercoat provide more efficiency / high top speed like the other 2 do?

+1 for silic one, its on mine too and zero growth in the last 12 months although not sure if thats due to the AF or the toxic nature of the humber :ROFLMAO:

i've not been out of the water at all in 12 months and because of lockdown its only moved once since october
