Well, while everyone else is asking toilet questions, i thought i'd join in. I dare say many are familiar with the nasty smell when the toilet has stood a week, but how does everyone get rid of it ? We have found the shutting the incoming sea cock off and flushing for a while with the shower pumping water into the bowl works, it leaves the toilet with fresh water in it. Can't help thinking there must be an easier solution, did think about putting a few chlorine granules in before we leave, any thoughts ?

Just trying to get rid of this problem myself! Leesan do a kit with a 3 way diverter valve. www.leesan.com - fresh water flush kit. The smell appears to come from the dead seawater bact in the intake pipes. They need flushing through with fresh water when you leave the boat each time. I have a kit on order now. Also going to replace the pipe for good measure.

Weve got some very scented soap detergent and pour some in the pan before we leave it, seems to do the trick up to a point. Better than nothing, and better than bleach

I use Toilet Duck and it seems to work OK.
Not sure if it has bleach in it though, if it has it would rot the seals etc. but so far all is well. :)
