Does anybody happen to know the diameter of the hose that fits on the raw water pump of a Volvo D1-30B? The section that connects the impeller housing to the sea-cock.

doesnt it go from the seacock to a strainer then to the impeller housing. Here is the diameter of pipe from the volvo penta site.

I haven't a strainer on my boat. Having spoken with Volvo at the Southampton Show they seem to say that it isn't really necessary[???] - though I planning to install one over the winter.
